Questions & Answers

Fraxel Dual

1. WHAT DOES FRAXEL DUAL DO?

Fraxel Dual uses two wavelengths: one targets deeper layers to stimulate collagen for texture, lines, and scars, while the other works closer to the surface to treat pigmentation and sun damage. It treats a fraction of the skin at a time, allowing faster healing than traditional resurfacing.

2. IS FRAXEL DUAL FOR ME?

Fades sun spots, age spots, and uneven pigmentation

Softens fine lines and wrinkles

Improves acne scars and overall skin texture

Can be used on the face, neck, chest, and hands; your provider will tailor settings to your skin

3. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

Fraxel Dual is performed in the office with topical numbing for comfort. Many people see their best results after a series of treatments, depending on their goals.

Before Treatment:
Your provider will cleanse your skin and apply a topical numbing cream, typically for about an hour, to keep you comfortable.

During Treatment
The Fraxel handpiece is moved across the skin in smooth passes while cooling air helps minimize discomfort. Most patients describe a warm, prickling sensation.

The laser portion usually takes 20 to 30 minutes for the face. Including numbing time, plan for about one and a half to two hours. Speak with your provider for an accurate estimate.

After Treatment
‍
Expect redness and swelling for a few days, followed by a bronzed, sandpaper-like texture as treated skin flakes off over about a week. Gentle skincare and strict sun protection are important during healing.

Skin looks brighter and more even as it heals, and improvements in texture and fine lines continue for several months as new collagen develops.
